- Maybe it’s just an April Fool’s joke.
Crazy craft projects are not uncommon in the tech world. Playing Doom or Skyrim on a pregnancy test? No problem. But this project could just be an April Fool’s joke. Hobbyist Ken Pillonel posted a new video on YouTube. It shows a modified version of the Samsung Galaxy A51.
This has a Lightning port, which you otherwise only know from the iPhone or iPad. Pillonel not only wants this to be structurally integrated into the A51, but it should even be functional. The hobbyist demonstrates how to charge the Android cell phone using a Lightning cable.
Pillonel only equipped an iPhone 13 Pro with a USB C port and 3.5 mm headphone jack at the end of March. Now he wants to have built the first Android cell phone with a Lightning port. But maybe the video is just a well-done April Fool’s joke.
Because the clip was uploaded on April 1st and is only 47 seconds long. The iPhone video, on the other hand, lasts 13 minutes. In another video, Ken Pillonel wants to reveal exactly how he modified the A51, at the latest then we will find out whether it is an April Fool’s joke or not.
