Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy looks like the dream game for Harry Potter fans

Sony and Warner Bros. shared a first look at the gameplay of Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy. Harry Potter fans are in for a treat.

We expected a lot from the first presentation ofHogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy, an ambitious project that has been talked about for several years. On the occasion of a State of Play, Sony and Warner Bros. broadcast a good ten minutes of gameplay to better understand the contours of the adaptation of the Harry Potter saga. And we have to admit that it seems to have no limits.

Thus, those who grew up with cult novels, which have become major films, risk living a real waking dream when seeing the images. The Avalanche studio seems to want to sign a real love letter to a universe that continues to amaze even today. Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy is expected for the end of the year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC.

You too, become Harry Potter

Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy will take place in the 1800s, well before the birth of Harry Potter (there will be plenty of FANTASTIC BEASTS). However, we have the impression of living an adventure similar to that of the hero when we look at the presentation. Indeed, we will play a student – that we can create from scratch, up to the House (we all hope to be Slytherin) – who will integrate Hogwarts in order to become a wizard. The menu looks very extensive. There will be lessons to follow (including those for potions!), friends to make, spells to master, mysteries to solve… Just this introductory part is like a game within the game that we could baptize ‘Live your life of Harry’.

In sum, Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy promises to be a copious experience, where there will be a thousand things to do, a thousand places to discover (the characteristic of open-world RPGs). For fans, it’s a veritable gold mine of references. If the plot will be set in the past, they should recognize several iconic elements of the universe. Everything suggests, moreover, that the developers went to draw in the films, but also in the books (among other creative freedoms, like certain spells).

This wealth is a good omen. Nevertheless, we hope that the gameplay will be there. For example, there is everything to fear from the fights, hoping that they are neither too simple (otherwise they will be a pain), nor too technical (otherwise they will put off). We are also waiting to see the technical solidity: given the scale of the environments, the output straddling two generations is not necessarily a good idea (hello Cyberpunk 2077). For a first approach, Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy succeeds. It will be necessary to concretize, from now on, to avoid the syndrome of the powder of the perlimpinpin.
