In Hogwarts Legacy, when you venture into the vaults of treasure scattered throughout the world, you may stumble upon one of the chess puzzles.

In this you should find another figure or at least an item that you can transform into one. To find this item, you can use the Revelio spell.

How to solve the chess puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy.

For the transformation you need the yellow spell “Transformation”. Once you have figured out which character to use, place it against the opposing king in such a way that your character can beat it.

This is how you can move the chess pieces

• The king moves one square in each direction.
• The lady can move horizontally, vertically and diagonally.
• The tower always moves horizontally or vertically.
• The bishop always moves diagonally.
• The knight always runs in an L-shape.
• The pawn can only advance one square and always captures diagonally.

Once you have found the right place for the character, the opposing character will disappear and a treasure chest will appear in the room, which you can now loot. Included are usually good pieces of equipment that you can upgrade.

Incidentally, there are often vases and other vessels in such vaults, which you can use “Transformation” to turn into wallets, among other things, in order to quickly get galleons.
