Unveiled in much more detail during the State of Play on March 17, 2022, Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy then convinced most Harry Potter fans thanks to its breathtaking gameplay trailer. So we finally had a release period for the single-player open-world RPG and all the merchant sites rushed to update their game pre-orders. With a price displayed at 70€ on the majority of online stores, some information remains rather vague.
Hogwarts Legacy: Multiplayer, microtransactions and internet connection
We’ve seen it before: Hogwarts Legacy will be a fully single-player game as stated on the game’s official website. The FAQ also clarifies that no microtransactions will be required to fully enjoy the RPG. Reassuring information since many Internet users had asked themselves the question when they saw the time system to grow the ingredients in the trailer.
Finally, the official site answers many questions but does not indicate two essential information for today’s next-gen games:
- The Internet connection will it be required to play Hogwarts Legacy?
- The Upgrade Is PS4/Xbox One to next-gen console available?
The Hogwarts Legacy not coming out before the end of 2022, it may be a little early to ask these kinds of questions, but the fact is that many players already want to pre-order the game as they have been seduced by its gameplay. Regarding the first question, it is true that some covers of the game on Xbox display the famous “Requires internet” but this is very unlikely.
Hogwarts Legacy: Price and next-gen upgrade
In the end, if we go to all the commercial sites already offering the pre-order of Hogwarts Legacy, we notice that the information disseminated is not identical everywhere. This is why in a previous article, we told you to pay attention to the unofficial covers of the title and the famous placeholder for the release date of December 31, 2022. As long as Warner Bros Games or Avalanche Software do not officially have press release on pre-orders and the different editions of the game, you have to remain vigilant and not believe everything that circulates on the web.
Thus, we can see that according to the covers, some indicate that the internet connection is mandatory, others not. On the other hand, where all the sites are unanimous is that the game costs around 70€ on next-gen consoles and it looks like there are no upgrade options offered for the PS4 and Xbox One versions at this time.
In short, this means that you can buy the game on PS4 and Xbox One for around €60 without any guarantee of being able to get it in an improved version if you fall for a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. Free upgrade or cost around 10€, nothing is indicated at the moment.
Whatever happens, all this is only temporary and we advise you once again to wait for official communications as well as the opening of pre-orders on the PlayStation and Xbox sites.
