Another article on Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts Legacy? Yes ! Sorry but there is too much to say about the most anticipated RPG of the year and I don’t intend to stop there. This week we were treated to an hour-long talk via Autodesk filled with never-before-seen images and information. The biggest piece of this video was undoubtedly about the reveal of the character creation interface. It may not be in its final version, but at least we have the basics of what it will look like when Hogwarts Legacy is released at the end of the year.
Hogwarts Legacy: The character creation interface
If you diligently follow all the news around Hogwarts Legacy, then you have already seen the following images (if only in our previous article). On the other hand, I would like to come back to it because something worries me a lot: the last tab of the interface. In total, these are six tabs that will allow us to design the wizard or witch of our dreams. Also remember that it will be possible, later, to buy other clothes and accessories to customize it and probably to change your hairstyle.
At the beginning of the game, we can therefore create our avatar from A to Z with the following tabs:
- Presets : a range of pre-designed models that allow you to choose a character without having to design it yourself (you can however modify it afterwards),
- Face : allows you to change the overall appearance of the face (shape, skin color, glasses or not)
- Hair : allows you to change your hairstyle and hair color,
- Details : allows you to add elements such as scars,
- Face : allows you to modify the face (eyebrows, mouth, eyes etc.)
- ??? : This is the emblem of Hogwarts and is therefore similar to the choice of the House between Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Slytherin.
You will probably have understood it, my concern is about the choice of house at Hogwarts. With this interface, it seems rather clear that we will be able to select it simply from the creation of the character but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Hogwarts Legacy: What would be the best way to choose your house?
Harry Potter fans and future Hogwarts Legacy players are divided on the question. Sometimes some believe that it would be better to be able to choose your house with just one click (in order to be able to redo the game four times, with each of the houses for example, but above all to be certain of falling on HIS house), sometimes the others would prefer something more complex. By more complex, I mean a kind of quiz Like on Pottermore which then allows us to define the house according to our own character traits. We can also imagine the beginning of an adventure where absolutely all our actions and decisions will then influence the final choice of the sorting hat.
Personally, I am one of those who would like the choice of home not to be one. I want to be Ravenclaw, it’s undeniable, but I would love for the game to determine me as a Ravenclaw through my actions and responses before the homecoming ceremony. I would indeed be disappointed if you just had to choose your house when creating the character, even if I understand the interest. And you? Don’t hesitate to tell me in the comments!
Good to know: the game’s community manager indicated on Twitter that he would reveal very soon what the last tab of the character creation interface symbolizes. Very close to his community, he is indeed aware of all that the fans dissect as information and knows very well that the potterheads eagerly waiting to find out how they can choose their home.
As for the release date, we should probably finally have it on the next State of Play which will take place at the end of August or beginning of September (this remains to be confirmed). A few more weeks to wait then and we will finally know when we can play the long-awaited Harry Potter RPG in the open world!
