  • When Hogwarts Legacy was released, almost 880,000 PC players played at the same time.
  • The title now has no more than 100,000 players on a good day.
  • Hogwarts Legacy on PC is seeing a player drop of over 90 percent.

At release, Hogwarts Legacy was so successful that the role-playing game set a Twitch record, but now the “Harry Potter” title is seeing a decline in player numbers.

According to statistics, shortly after the release there were a total of 879,308 simultaneous players on SteamDB. Within the last 24 hours (March 23), however, only 57,380 players, around 7 percent, played simultaneously.

Players in Hogwarts Legacy

So many people are still actively playing Hogwarts Legacy.

Of course, a weekday is not comparable to the weekend in terms of player numbers, but even on these, Hogwarts Legacy apparently does not reach more than 100,000 concurrent players.

Not uncommon

But a decline in the number of players after the release of a single-player title is not at all unusual and says little about the quality of the game, because Hogwarts Legacy did not do badly in our test.

Most players should have finished the main Hogwarts Legacy story by now. It is not known whether the numbers for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are similar.

The “Harry Potter” game should get a renewed boost with the release for PS4 and Xbox One as well as Nintendo Switch. If you haven’t fully explored the School of Magic yet, we’ll give you tips and tricks to help you get along better in Hogwarts Legacy.
