Hogwarts Legacy: Unable to access early access on Steam due to an error

Whether Hogwarts Legacy does not officially come out until February 10, owners of the Deluxe Edition are entitled to three-day early access which allows them to cross the doors of Hogwarts before everyone else. A nice bonus for the most impatient, even people who bought this edition on PC via Steam find themselves at a disadvantage against people playing on consoles. Early Access has been available on PS5 and Xbox Series since midnight tonight, but Steam users had to wait until 7 p.m. today in order to enjoy the game. At least that was in theory.

A failed launch on Steam

As of 7 p.m., a large part of the Steam community has been unable to access the early access of Hogwarts Legacy. The game is impossible to launch, like it just hasn’t been released or unlocked yet. A situation that is enough to enrage people who have paid a high price to take advantage of these hours in advance.

Valve and Warner Bros Games are obviously aware of the issue and are trying to fix it. According to Warner Bros Games, the problem is currently being resolved, and would require you to close Steam completely before restarting it. for the game to display, but it doesn’t work for everyone.

We can only strongly advise you to repair the game files if this happens to you too. for that, go to the game settings in your Steam library, select the “Local files” tab, and “Verify integrity of game files”. It’s not necessarily a silver bullet, but in the absence of clear communication from the publisher, it doesn’t hurt to try. You can also try uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it, hoping that the problem will be resolved quickly so that you can return to Hogwarts.

For the others, Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. It will then arrive on April 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, then on July 25 on Nintendo Switch.
