Hogwarts Legacy is no longer only available for PC and the newer consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but also for the older consoles PS4 and Xbox One.
A comparison video shows the compromises that players with older consoles have to make in terms of graphics and loading times. As was to be expected, the PS5 loads significantly faster at just under 5 seconds than the PS4 with just under 40 seconds or even the PS4 Pro with 42 seconds loading time.
The frame rate
However, differences are also noticeable in the frame rate. While the graphics for the PS4 aren’t as polished as the PS5, the frame rate is lower than the new console.
The PS5 reaches up to 80 FPS (frames per second), while the PS4 Pro reaches a maximum of 60 FPS and the PS4 only reaches 50 FPS. As the video shows, the PS4 version of Hogwarts Legacy also features significantly fewer vases, paintings and other furniture.
