Hogwarts Legacy will not include a morality system

Information is pouring in a few days before the release ofHogwarts Legacy, the RPG in the world of Harry Potter developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Thanks to the various previews released, we were able to learn that a hundred secondary quests will be offered, having an impact on the main story. But we were also able to have confirmation thatno system of morality would be present.

No morality system in Hogwarts Legacy

We have already known for some time that the unforgivable spells, namely the Imperium Curse, the Cruciatus Curse and the Death Curse will be included. However, their use will not necessarily be punished in Hogwarts Legacy. Moira Squier, director of narration, explains in the columns of GamesRadar that at some point in history, players will be able to learn these spells, but it will not be mandatory. And if you ever learn them, you won’t have to use them.

However, whether out of curiosity or simply because you want to use it, casting an unforgivable spell will have no real impact on the storyonly visual animations and a few sentences launched by the witnesses of the scene.

Characters will react visually and audibly when the player casts an Unforgivable Curse on them, but we haven’t planned a morality system that would punish them for doing so.

This choice was encouraged in particular by the complexity of setting up such a system, but also so as not to confine the player to what he can or cannot do, so that he can experiment for himself. However, abusing these spells should have some consequences, although we don’t know what exactly yet.
