Holcim nominates Catrin Hinkel as new independent member of its board of directors

(Boursier.com) — Holcim suggests Catrin Hinkel, general director of Microsoft Switzerland, for election to its board of directors. She will stand for election alongside candidate Michael H. McGarry at Holcim’s annual general meeting on May 8, 2024. All other members are standing for re-election. It is also proposed to re-elect Jan Jenisch as chairman of the board of directors.

With the proposed appointments, Holcim’s Board of Directors will consist of 11 members, 10 of whom are independent according to the Swiss Code of Best Practices in Corporate Governance and the criteria set by the DJSI. Holcim continually strengthens its Board of Directors to ensure it includes diverse backgrounds, experiences and expertise across all key areas relevant to its business.

Catrin Hinkel has been CEO of Microsoft Switzerland since May 2021. With over 25 years of experience in the technology sector across diverse organizations and cultures, she previously held leadership roles at Accenture, most recently as Managing Director principal, Europe Cloud. First Strategy & Consulting Manager.

His other mandates include participation on the executive committee of Digital Switzerland, on the board of directors of the industry association ASUT and on the supervisory board of the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security. For her commitment to digital innovation, Catrin Hinkel was named by the Swiss magazine BILANZ as one of the Swiss Digital Shapers 2022 and by Forbes DACH in its list of C-suite Women in Tech. A German national, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from the European Business School Partnership (ESB), Reutlingen and London.
