During the transfer of power between Élisabeth Borne and Gabriel Attal, appointed this Tuesday to Matignon, the former Prime Minister wanted to send a message of hope and perseverance to “all women”.

After the appointment this Tuesday of Gabriel Attal to Matignon, the now ex-Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne and her successor met for the traditional transfer of power. During her speech, Élisabeth Borne notably announced that she was going to join the benches of the National Assembly as a deputy for Calvados, a position to which she was elected during the last legislative elections. After congratulating the new resident of Matignon, she also wanted to send a message to all women.

A message of hope

“Hold on, the future belongs to you,” she declared on the Matignon square. “I think my journey shows that whatever your story, anything is possible.” Note that during her induction on May 16, 2022, Élisabeth Borne had already sent a message to “all the little girls” by dedicating her nomination to them: “I would like to dedicate this nomination to all the little girls by telling them: ‘go to end your dreams and nothing should slow down the fight for the place of women in our society.

This type of formula had already been used in 2016 by Hillary Clinton during the American presidential campaign, then by Kamala Harris when she was named vice-president of the United States. “All the little girls watching us tonight see that this is a country of possibilities,” declared the close friend of Joe Biden.
