Pleasantly sweet, spicy and a hint of cinnamon: This is what Christmas tastes like – and the Lillet Winter Thyme. The drink is perfect as an aperitif before a big Christmas dinner with the family or as a cocktail for a relaxed girls’ evening between the years. The best thing: you don’t need a cocktail shaker and mixing is quick. So when the visit is almost upon us, the Lillet Winter Thyme is an uncomplicated and tasty choice.

If you’re not a fan of Lillet, you can use your favorite whiskey instead of alcohol for the drink – or simply leave it out completely for a non-alcoholic version. The cinnamon syrup and pear juice provide a sweet note that is balanced by the lemon juice. If you like to drink a Lillet Wild Berry in the summer, then you will definitely enjoy the Lillet Winter Thyme in the winter.

Lillet Winter Thyme: This is how the drink is prepared

For a glass of the aperitif you need the following ingredients:

  1. Fill the glass with a few ice cubes.
  2. Add Lillet Blanc, pear juice, cinnamon syrup and fresh lemon juice to the glass and stir gently with a metal spoon.
  3. Fill the glass with tonic water.
  4. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, pear slices and thyme and enjoy.

The set creates a Christmas atmosphere

The drink is also visually impressive and looks wonderfully Christmassy with a pretty cinnamon stick in the glass – an anise star also makes an excellent decoration. The pear slice in the glass is optional, but it gives the cocktail that certain something and can make a real impression on guests. The choice of glasses is completely up to you. Because the aperitif is enjoyed cold, glasses without handles, such as pretty aperitif glasses or whiskey glasses, are also suitable.
