Viasuisse recommends avoiding the traffic jam via the A13 San Bernardino tunnel.

As “20minuten.ch” reports, a breakdown vehicle that had moved south blocked the 17-kilometer road tunnel shortly after 1:30 p.m. The traffic on the opposite lane was therefore briefly interrupted, writes the online medium. The disruption has now been resolved.
This may also have caused a traffic jam from south to north. According to Viasuisse, vehicles are queuing for more than five kilometers between Quinto and Airolo.
15 km traffic jam on Saturday
The traffic jam in front of the Gotthard north portal was resolved on Saturday evening. At times it was 15 kilometers long. As a result, travelers had to be prepared for a waiting time of up to two hours and 30 minutes in the early afternoon. At 5 p.m. the traffic jam was still 12 kilometers long.
The TCS had already reported a column in front of the tunnel on Saturday night. Already early on Saturday morning the columns of cars were more than ten kilometers.
