Forever engaged, never married: In Hollywood is full of couples who have promised each other but are in no hurry to tie the knot. Like the English top model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (36) and the actor Jason Statham (56), who also comes from England.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham have been engaged since 2016
Huntington-Whiteley has been in a relationship with Statham since 2010. At the beginning of 2016, the couple confirmed that they were engaged. There hasn’t been a wedding yet, but there have been two children. Their son was born in June 2017. In February 2022 he had a little sister. On the subject of weddings, the model said in an interview with “Extra Tonight” some time ago: “It’s not a big priority for us; we’re so happy.”
Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have been engaged since 2019
US singer Katy Perry (38) and British actor Orlando Bloom (46) have been lovers since the beginning of 2016. The two stars celebrated their engagement on Valentine’s Day 2019. This couple also doesn’t have a marriage certificate yet, but they already have a child. In the music video for her single “Never Worn White”, Perry announced in spring 2020 that she was pregnant. In August 2020 she gave birth to daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.
He has proven in the past that Bloom can get married more quickly: he got engaged to top model Miranda Kerr (40) in June 2010, and a month later the two were a married couple. After a son initially made their happiness perfect in 2011, they announced their separation in 2013. Perry was also already married; she said yes to comedian Russell Brand (48) nine months after her engagement in 2010. The marriage only lasted 14 months.
Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa have been engaged since 2021
Fans of US actress Kate Hudson (44) are also still waiting for the actress to say yes again. Since September 2021, she has been engaged to musician and actor Danny Fujikawa (37), with whom she has been in a relationship since the end of 2016. The two have been parents to daughter Rani since October 2018.
Hudson was previously married to Chris Robinson (56), lead singer of the Black Crowes. After the wedding on December 31, 2000, their son was born in 2004. They announced their separation in 2006. In early 2010, Hudson began dating Muse singer and guitarist Matt Bellamy (45). They got engaged in April 2011 and their son was born in July 2011. The relationship collapsed in December 2014.
Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham got engaged in 1992
Talk queen Oprah Winfrey (69) did not get married despite being engaged. She was proposed to in 1992 by her partner, the author and businessman Stedman Graham. The two have been a couple since 1986. She once told People magazine: “Both he and I now say, ‘If we had gotten married, we wouldn’t be together anymore’.” She added: “No question – we wouldn’t stay married because of what that would have meant to him and I would have had my own ideas about it.” However, Oprah Winfrey described their relationship as a “spiritual marriage.”
Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt have married after 19 years of engagement
Engaged for a long time and still married – that’s how it went for the Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh (61) and the motorsport star Jean Todt (77). The 61-year-old, who was previously married, became engaged to Todt the year they met, 2004. In July 2023 it was announced that the couple had married in their adopted home of Switzerland.
Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo married seven years after getting engaged
The US actress Amy Adams (49) met her colleague Darren Le Gallo (49) at an acting course in 2001. A year later, while working together on a short film, they fell in love. They got engaged in 2008 and their daughter Aviana was born in 2010. Only seven years after their engagement, the couple married in a private ceremony in California in 2015.
