As soon as data transmission and Internet access are required in several rooms or across several floors in the house, conventional WLAN setups often reach their limits. Powerline adapters offer a solution here by moving the data stream into the power line.
The FritzPowerline 1220E set we tested consists of two Fritz!Powerline 1220 LAN adapters. These are each equipped with two gigabit LAN ports and one pass-through socket. You can therefore continue to use the sockets for additional devices. FritzPowerline 1220E promises nominal transmission rates of up to 1,200 MBit/s and encrypts the data with 128-bit AES. However, you have to do without WLAN with this set, but it is somewhat cheaper than the sister model FritzPowerline 1260E.

“In the test, the AVM Fritz!Powerline 1220E set, which includes two LAN adapters, scores with excellent data transmission rates and economical power consumption. Since the installation is quick and easy, the set is ready for use within a very short time. With this set, however, you have to go up do without the WiFi option.”
