Home remedies for acne

Tea tree oil

  • Tea skin oil is a suitable remedy for impure skin due to its antiseptic effect.
  • Apply the oil directly to the inflamed area, preferably several times a day.
  • Warning: The oil is an essential oil that has an intense smell and can also cause skin irritation in some people. Therefore, be careful with the application and it is best to first test how your skin reacts to it. Don't use the oil near your eyes.

Heilerde

  • Healing earth is generally recommended for impure skin and acne. The product is available in health food stores or drug stores in powder form and must be mixed with water according to the manufacturer. Then it is applied as a mask. The mask has dried in after 20 to 30 minutes of exposure. During this time, the healing earth absorbs excess sebum, cleanses and soothes the skin and has an antibacterial effect. Then the mask is washed off with plenty of warm water. It's best to use the mask once a week.
  • Warning: Healing earth dries out the skin to a great extent. If you already have dry and sensitive skin, you need to apply cream afterwards.

honey

  • Honey is probably one of those home remedies that you always have ready. The golden liquid also has an antiseptic effect and can therefore be applied directly to the pimple or applied in the form of a face mask.

chamomile steam

  • A steam bath with chamomile flowers has an anti-inflammatory effect and opens the pores so that the sebum can drain away better.
  • Put hot water and chamomile flowers (or essence) in a bowl and let the liquid steep for five minutes. Then do a steam bath with a towel for 10 to 15 minutes. Make sure the temperature is right so you don't burn yourself. You can use this home remedy several times a week.
  • Attention: If redness or itching is noticeable, there is an allergic reaction to chamomile – in this case you should not use this home remedy.

zinc ointment

  • Zinc ointments consist of zinc oxide, which has a disinfecting effect. On the one hand it ensures that the acne is dried out, on the other hand it fights bacteria. It also supports the skin in wound healing.
  • The zinc ointment is applied selectively to the cleaned, affected areas and works best overnight.
  • Never apply the cream over a large area: the ointment is very fatty and can therefore clog the pores!

garlic

  • Admittedly, the smell of garlic does not necessarily make this home remedy for acne the most popular remedy, but its effectiveness cannot be ignored. Halve a clove of garlic and rub the pimples with it. Optimally you let the remedy work overnight and wash it off thoroughly in the morning.

lemon juice

  • Lemon juice is disinfectant, but it can also irritate the skin. So it's best to use the juice diluted: You can either mix a few sprinkles of a lemon with yoghurt and use it as a mask, or you can dilute the lemon juice with water, apply the liquid with a cotton swab and leave it on overnight.
  • Do not use this home remedy on open wounds!

Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Apple cider vinegar has an antiseptic effect and helps regulate the pH of the skin. Use naturally cloudy and unpasteurized organic cider vinegar.
  • Mix one teaspoon of the vinegar with three teaspoons of water. Soak a cotton ball with the solution and dab the home remedy on the acne. After a contact time of ten minutes, rinse the product thoroughly with warm water. You repeat the application daily for several days.
