The “Kevin – Home Alone” series is being breathed new life. “Home Sweet Home Alone” is to be released soon.

The comedy “Kevin – Alone at Home” from 1990 is now an absolute Christmas classic. Several films from the franchise have appeared over the past few decades. Just in time for Christmas 2021, the new adventure comedy “Home Sweet Home Alone” will be available exclusively at Disney +, as the streaming service has announced.

What it will be about and who will be there

The next part of the series no longer revolves around the young Kevin (Macaulay Culkin, 40) from the original, who would of course be much too old for the role today. Otherwise the whole thing is very similar to the first film. His family leaves Max Mercer (Archie Yates, 12) alone while they spend the holidays in Japan. A married couple is aiming for an heirloom in the Mercer’s house – and Max now has to defend himself against the intruders. Disney + promises “hilarious entanglements of epic proportions” in a press release.

“Home Sweet Home Alone” is expected to be available from November 12th. As early as the summer of 2019, it was announced that a corresponding project was planned. In 2020 there were media reports that Culkin is expected to be featured in a brief cameo. In addition to Yates, Ellie Kemper (41), Rob Delaney (44), Aisling Bea (37) and Chris Parnell (54) will appear. Directed by Dan Mazer (49).
