As luck would have it, I am currently writing this article on a WiFi hotspot on the phone. On Christmas vacation with the family, the WiFi doesn’t work the way I need it to work. If DSL is also too slow for you, you can try your luck with vDSL and cable internet. In addition, Logitel currently offers two tempting tariffs with up to one gigabit of high-speed data!
Usually I summarize all the details of cell phone contracts for you in my tariff checks. But today we’re talking about contracts that affect your internet at home. The provider Logitel currently offers cashback campaigns and other discounts for two internet flat rates – one from Vodafone and the other from Deutsche Telekom. You can find them right below.

As you can see on the screenshot above, the introduction wasn’t a joke! The internet is really miserable at my mom’s home. So let’s see if I should talk her into one of the two internet contracts for Christmas, huh?
Vodafone deal: Up to 1 gigabit and 215 euros cashback
The first contract for cable internet comes from Vodafone. It resembles a good friend of mine – the 1 gigabit flat rate that Vodafone offered for 39.99 euros a month for a long time. The Vodafone Red Internet & Phone 1000 Cable also offers up to 1,000 Mbit for download and up to 50 Mbit for upload. There is also a free WiFi router and a flat-rate telephone to the German landline network.

You would normally pay 49.99 euros per month for this contract – and it is the same from the 7th and up to the 24th month. In the first six months, Vodafone will cut the monthly price, which will save you almost 300 euros. The connection fees are currently also omitted and Logitel is adding another 215 euros as cashback on top. You will get the reimbursement by sending in the first invoice from the provider.
Telekom deal: Up to 50 Mbit with up to 280 euros cashback
If Vodafone does not offer cable contracts at home, there is an alternative at Deutsche Telekom. The costs differ a little here, depending on how old you are. It is always a VDSL flat rate with a maximum of 50 Mbit / s in the download and 10 Mbit / s in the upload. A telephone flat rate to the German landline network is also available here.

As with Vodafone, the connection price does not apply if you are already equipped for vDSL. Otherwise you have to reckon with new connection fees of 69.95 euros. If you are under 28 years old, the basic fee is 19.95 euros per month for the first 10 months – after that it continues with 34.95 euros. Older customers also pay only 19.95 euros in the first six months and then have to plan with 39.95 euros.
The cashback that Logitel gives you here is also different. Young customers get 240 euros, while “normal” customers get a sum of 280 euros back. A little opaque, but overall, as a youngster at Telekom, you save a bit if you calculate the total period.
Regarding the question from the beginning: I would probably recommend the Telekom contract to my mother. Although the speeds for a vDSL connection are not exactly high, the bandwidth is not shared with other connected households. Because with cable contracts you always run the risk of experiencing strong fluctuations in download and upload.
Which contract would you choose – and what would your arguments be against the two offers from Logitel?
