Homeowner injured – guardian angel in house fire in Telfes

A 60-year-old local in Telfes im Stubai was extremely lucky on Wednesday morning. He barely escaped the full-scale fire in the kitchen of his house and “only” suffered smoke inhalation.

For reasons that are still unclear, a fire broke out in a residential building in Telfes im Stubai on Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. When the emergency services arrived, the kitchen on the ground floor of the two-story building was already completely engulfed in flames. The homeowner saved himself. Fortunately, the homeowner (60) was already in front of the building; the man was heavily covered in soot. No other people were in the building at the time of the fire. The Telfes, Fulpmes and Neustift fire departments with more than 50 emergency services were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the upper floors and quickly bring the fire under control. Investigations are underway. The homeowner was taken to the hospital in Hall with suspected smoke poisoning. There was significant damage to the house and the building is uninhabitable until further notice. The investigation to clarify the cause of the fire is ongoing.
