Honda E: range, battery, charging time – what can the electric car do?

Electric mobility is picking up speed. GIGA shows you the performance of the Honda E including battery, charging time and range.

The future is moving away from internal combustion engines. Nobody can really predict to what extent the whole thing will still take place and what innovations will come. The fact is that e-mobility is expanding rapidly, as companies such as Tesla in particular prove. But other car manufacturers such as Honda are also increasingly turning their attention to the production of electric vehicles. In this article, GIGA shows you what makes one of these electric cars – the Honda E – so special: from range and battery to charging time and driving experience.

Just like the topic of e-mobility, the technology of autonomous driving is also constantly evolving. In the video you can see Xiaomi’s software for independent driving:

How far will the Honda E take you?

You’ll quickly realize that the Honda E isn’t exactly suited for a long commute or a road trip. Because this vehicle just brings you 180 kilometers far. However, if your job is not too far away or you plan to use your car mainly for shopping and visits that only require a short drive, you can strike without hesitation. The app called “My Honda +” is useful in this context, with which you can plan charging cycles and find out about the charge status of your Honda E – this can save you from having no energy in your car at an inconvenient time.

Apparently, superheroes are also switching to electric cars. In the photo gallery you can see the Batmobile as an electric car version:

What is the battery capacity of the Honda E?

According to the manufacturer, you get up to 56 kW with a gliding current charge, while a maximum of almost 43 kW is achieved at a fast charging station. With a charging capacity of 29 kW, you fill the energy tank within 42 minutes already with 80 percent, which is not bad at all, since the time saving for you is enormous. In addition, charging the Honda E is quite convenient, as the charging point is located in the middle of the hood and is therefore easily accessible from both sides. Incidentally, the company still has big plans when it comes to e-mobility – we have summarized for you what else Honda has planned in terms of e-cars.

How is the driving experience with the Honda E?

The battery of the Honda E is installed under the vehicle floor. Due to the optimal weight ratio and size, you can use the vehicle easy to controlwithout breaking a sweat. Rear-wheel drive allows you to take corners much better when accelerating out, giving the Honda E an advantage on tight roads. The turning maneuvers are also easy and do not pose a problem.
