The Motocompacto is a new electric scooter from Honda, which smells of the early 80s.

At the very end of last year, the manufacturer Honda formalized the return of its small Motocompacto scooter, in a brand new 100% electric version. At the beginning of the 1980s, the Japanese marketed a small scooter called “Motocompo”, a type scooter trunk bike capable of folding on itself to be stored in a car trunk.

With this new 100% electric version, Honda offers a zero-emission Motocompacto designed to meet the modern realities of urban mobility. It thus promises to offer users an alternative means of transport that is easy and pleasant to drive.

According to Honda, the scooter has been designed with rider comfort and convenience in mind, with a comfortable seat, footrests, onboard storage, digital speedometer, charge gauge and carrying handle comfortable.

You can also adjust certain parameters using a dedicated application.

The philosophy of this new model remains essentially the same as that of the original model, namely a small urban scooter, which you take out of the trunk of the car, before unfolding it and traveling the last few kilometers to the office , avoiding traffic jams.

In terms of technical specifications, the small Honda Motocompacto scooter is capable of reaching a top speed of up to 25 km/h (not forgetting 0 to 25 km/h achieved in 7 seconds), with an announced autonomy of around 20 km.

Full recharge takes place in just under 4 hours and the Motocompacto can accommodate up to 120 kg.

Will it be successful this time?

Sales will initially be offered through the website Motocompacto.honda.com, and at Honda and Acura car dealerships in November. The recommended retail price will be less than $1,000, the latter being set at precisely $995.

Remember that in its time, the small 50 cm scooter3 signed Honda had not (at all) experienced the joys of success, with only 50,000 sales spread over two years, when the firm was counting on 10,000 monthly sales.
