Ever dreamed of playing PS5 while driving? Honda is about to make your dream come true. The manufacturer has just announced a partnership with Sony which will, among other things, integrate the console into its future vehicles. For obvious safety reasons, the latter will also integrate autonomous driving.
The days when cars were just means of transport are over. If Tesla is not the only player in this transition of our vehicles towards entertainment, the manufacturer has indeed changed the situation by democratizing its infotainment system. Especially since the latter has largely risen in rank in recent years, including including a console as powerful as the PS5.
A train ahead of the competition that it has a hard time swallowing and that it is now trying to catch up. Then enters a new fighter in the arena: Honda. The automaker has just announced the creation of a joint venture in partnership with Sony. Called Sony Honda Mobility, the objective of this alliance is relatively clear: integrate Sony technologies and products in upcoming Sony vehicles.
A PS5 integrated into your car, it’s coming soon
Of course, this includes the PS5. Izumi Kawanishi, PSG of Sony Honda Mobility, does not hide his ambitions, clearly qualifying the company as “fight against Tesla”. Ultimately, the firm wishes to offer a car designed around entertainment, be it music, movies or video games. And the latter could soon see the light of day.

According to Yasuhide Mizuno, Chairman of the Board of Sony Honda Mobility, the company’s first model will be available in North America as early as 2025. “To be able to take advantage of the space in the car, it has to be a space where you don’t have to drive”recognizes the latter. “The solution to this problem is autonomous driving”. It therefore remains to be seen whether the time announced by Honda will be sufficient to develop such technology, which is still in its infancy at the present time.
