Honeywell: chosen by bp in aviation biofuels

(CercleFinance.com) – Honeywell announced on Wednesday that bp plans to use its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production process at five of its sites worldwide.

UOP Ecofining technology, developed by Honeywell with Italian energy group Eni, converts inedible natural oils, animal fats and other wastes into renewable diesel and SAF.

In a press release, the diversified American group points out that demand for its process has more than doubled over the past two years with an installation that now reaches 35 sites, the equivalent of a production of 400,000 barrels per day.

According to Honeywell, bp plans to use its process at refineries in Cherry Point (USA), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Lingen (Germany), Castellon de la Plana (Spain) and Kwinana (Australia).
