Honor is resurrecting the X8 5G with its latest addition, the 70 Lite

Pending the availability of its Magic 5 Pro, and to complete the 70 model released in the fall of 2022, Honor announces that of a new entry-level smartphone, the 70 Lite. This model is deceptively similar to a terminal also dating from last year, the X8 5G, in terms of design and technical data sheet.

Similar in their dimensions and weight, since they both measure 163.66 x 75.13 x 8.68 mm for 194 g, the two smartphones house a triple rear photo module in a very identifiable square block, itself included at a shiny plastic shell. The similarities do not end there: this duo sports a 6.5-inch LCD screen displaying 1600 x 720 pixels (HD +, therefore) with a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz.

Under their hood officiates the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chip, which gives them compatibility with 5G. However, there is a small difference in terms of RAM, the configuration of the Honor 70 Lite with 4 GB of RAM, 6 GB being reserved for the X8 5G. A storage of 128 GB completes it regardless of the smartphone and can be increased thanks to a microSD card. Their batteries have a capacity of 5000 mAh and benefit from a charge at 22.5 W.

However, there are a few differences between the two devices. They are mainly related to the photo block, since the Honor 70 Lite is equipped with a 50 megapixel main sensor, where the X8 5G benefited from a 48 Mpx version. Two sensors of 2 Mpx each (macro and depth measurement) sit next to it. Finally, the latest from Honor runs Android 12 with MagicUI 6.1, unlike the X8 5G released under Android 11.

The Honor 70 Lite, almost twin brother of the X8 5G, has the merit of being charged a little less. It is announced from €199 when the X8 5G sold from €269.
