Honor intends to beat Samsung to the post, the South Korean having promised the formalization of its Galaxy S24 series on January 17. Just a week before (January 10), Honor will present its Magic 6 Pro. And to make your mouth water, the CEO of the Chinese brand, George Zhao, shared on Weibo a first image of his future high-end terminal.
Ambitions in photography
This visual reveals a photo block with rounded corners composed of three sensors and the inscription “100X”, which could indicate the presence of a hybrid zoom of up to 100 times without loss, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra from 2023. Among these three sensors would therefore be a module with a periscopic lens, recognizable by its rectangular shape, the other two occupying the roles of wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle.
The rest of the back would be inspired by “the magnificent wonders of the earth to draw the beauty of Chinese mountains and lakes”with a cyan color referring to Qinghai Lake, the largest in China, in winter.
No technical information has been revealed, but we can count on the traditional rumors distilled by specialists in the genre, notably Digital Chat Station who published several images of the Magic 6 Pro on Weibo. These reveal a facade displaying a punch with two cameras and centered at the top of the screen. The leaker also revealed the different storage capacities (256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB) and colors of the smartphone (black, white, green, purple and cyan).
In photographic matters, the media SamMobile relayed a report suggesting a Porsche Design version. Nothing surprising here since Honor itself announced in December 2023 a partnership with the German and that a “first jointly developed smart device will be[it] unveiled in January 2024 in China”.
SamMobile also adds that the photo module of the Honor Magic 6 Pro should feature a 1-inch main OmniVision OV50K sensor, an OmniVision OV50M sensor (with ultra-wide-angle optics) and a 200 Mpx Samsung Isocell HP3 associated with a telephoto lens. The rumor also mentions a 5600 mAh battery.
