Honor X8: after its 50 series, the brand is enriching its catalog of smartphones

Honor is developing its catalog of smartphones, which only had two devices in 2021. The ex-Huawei brand inaugurates its X series with the X8, positioned at the entry level.

Little present last year, contenting itself with a 50 series with two products, Honor intends to develop its catalog of smartphones available in Europe. If the high-end Magic 4 series, made official at the last Mobile World Congress, is still pending, the former Huawei brand is investing in the market for affordable models with its X series. Starting with the Honor X8, whose marketing French is now official.

The Honor X8 is a rather classic device, equipped with a 6.67-inch screen in IPS technology, and with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. It displays a Full HD + definition (1080 x 2388 pixels), i.e. a resolution of 391 dpi. Its equipment includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage (without microSD port). This SoC is supported by a 4000 mAh battery accompanied by fast charging (SuperCharge) at 22.5 W.

Like many smartphones, the Honor 8X highlights its dorsal photo block. The latter includes four modules, two of which are really usable: count on a main sensor of 64 megapixels with a wide-angle (f / 1.8) and another of 5 megapixels with an ultra wide-angle, all accompanied by two 2 megapixel sensors each, dedicated to depth measurement and macro.

Honor’s X8 is announced under Android 11 flanked by the Magic UI 4.2 interface at a price of 259 €, a price which justifies the absence of 5G on this device. It will also be marketed from May 3 at the usual retailers.
