Grosse scam in Arnac-la-Poste (Haute-Vienne). Laëtitia Caillaud had only one dream, since she was little: to travel the roads of northern Limousin and lower Berry aboard a traveling grocery store. Transformed into a pizza truck, his project turned into a nightmare. Riddled with defects, his food truck, purchased from a used vehicle resale company based in Oise, is condemned to stop in his garden.

Insurance experts, legal advisors, justice commissioners have been working for six months on the case of this dangerous boat on the road, but also powerless to cook pizzas correctly – the height of it! Serious doubts about the reality of the mileage displayed by the vehicle led the Beauvais commercial court to request its immobilization, pending yet another expertise.

The disillusionment is great for Laëtitia Caillaud, 48 years old, a former accountant engaged in a retraining process. Her professional change dates back to 2021. Tired of going through balance sheets and operating balances within an accounting firm in Guéret, she decides to leave her job. There “midlife crisis” awakened his deepest desire: “Providing a service to villages without businesses by meeting the residents. » A contractual termination, a skills assessment and training in the profession of pizza maker will then lead her to acquire a converted Mercedes truck, at a price of 44,800 euros.

The absence of a gas bottle on the day of the sale prevents the oven from operating. No matter: the same as “a little girl in front of her toy”, Laëtitia Caillaud returns to Arnac-la-Poste with the fantasized object. She has already scheduled her tour of locations, at the crossroads of three departments: Monday in Chaillac (Indre), Tuesday in Saint-Maurice-la-Souterraine (Creuse), Wednesday in Cromac (Haute-Vienne), Thursday in Naillat (Creuse), Friday in La Châtre-Langlin (Indre). Made by hand, its pizza dough will feature classic and original recipes, based on duck breast or Camembert.

Crimson Pizzas

Problems will appear from the first days. Unable to produce uniform heat, the oven is difficult to operate. The pizzas come out either crimson or partially cooked. Above all: six minutes of cooking being necessary, instead of two, to achieve a result presentable to the customer, an operating loss is gradually increasing. Other setbacks are emerging: rainwater seeps into the passenger compartment; the electrical installation breaks down; the fridge threatens to break. The engine part is not at its best: the brake cable is loose; the water temperature sensor is losing control; the heating is malfunctioning… How can we believe that this utility vehicle dating from 2000, previously registered in Poland, only has 120,000 kilometers on the odometer? “How was he even able to pass the technical inspection? »asks Laëtitia Caillaud.
