Appointment of Sylvain LAURENT
as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hopium
Paris, September 11, 2023 – 8 a.m. – The Board of Directors of Hopium (ALHPI – FR0014000U63) announces the appointment of Sylvain LAURENT, current Managing Director of Hopium, to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Director of Hopium since December 2021 and General Manager of Hopium since December 2022, Sylvain LAURENT is a seasoned professional, engineer by training, who has held key positions at IBM, PCO Technologies and Dassault Systèmes. He has distinguished himself in particular in the development of the product offering and the transformation of industrial organizations.
His significant contribution to the globalization of Dassault Systèmes, where he became President of the Asia-Oceania region, was crucial in raising this region to the rank of major contributor to the company’s turnover, thus earning him the Magnolia award of the Shanghai government in 2019. In 2022, Sylvain LAURENT was appointed Chairman and Executive Vice President of the Dassault Systèmes Group, before joining Hopium as General Manager.
His appointment to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors will be subject to the approval of the next ordinary general meeting and concerns the duration of the remaining term of office of Alain GUILLOU from whom he succeeds, i.e. until the general meeting called to rule on the accounts closed on December 31, 2024.
Sylvain LAURENT and the entire Board of Directors would like to thank Alain GUILLOU for his valuable involvement with Hopium during his last months.
As Chairman and CEO of Hopium, Sylvain LAURENT underlined that the specificities of Hopium’s fuel cell arouse real interest from mobility players:
