Horizon Call of the Mountain announced on PSVR 2

Horizon Call of the Mountain was announced by Sony to accompany its officialization of PlayStation VR 2 during its CES 2022 conference. The teaser does not say much about this exclusive to the PlayStation 5 virtual reality headset.

Horizon Call of the Mountain will serve as a technical showcase for PSVR 2

If you don’t speak English, be aware that Jan-Bart Van Beek, one of the directors of the studios of Guerrilla, the artistic director and designer ofHorizon, begins with a reassuring message aboutHorizon Forbidden West. Its release is still scheduled for February 18, so fears of an additional postponement fade a little further.

He goes on to explain that he is there to present Horizon Call of the Mountain, a game whose objective is to push back all the limits of what has been done in VR, whether in terms of graphics, interactivity and gameplay. The project is a co-development between Guerrilla and Firesprite that Sony had absorbed last September.

We suppose that this is not their famous AAA since they were looking for a screenwriter for the latter and we imagine that it is rather Guerrilla who wants to manage all this part. Similarly, Firesprite was also working on a service game but it is difficult to see Horizon Call of the Mountain go in there.

No it’s not a crossover with Activision’s war game

For the teaser itself, with only 18 seconds of play, it’s difficult to get a good overview. Fortunately, an article from PlayStation Blog tells us more. We are confirmed that the female voice used by our character is not that of Aloy but that the latter will appear well in the game, just like other faces known from this universe.

This heroine is a new character but that we will discover “soon”. It can say that Guerilla could say more via another teaser or an article on the official blog in the coming weeks but inevitably, we would like that the real interpretation is that the person in question is present in Horizon Forbidden West to make it a little more interesting.

As with the PS VR 2, no release date or window has been mentioned for this Horizon Call of the Mountain which will be released exclusively for PlayStation VR 2, a headset that is itself only compatible with PlayStation 5.
