Horizon Forbidden West: The “Burning Shores” DLC is only coming to PS5 – Horizon: Forbidden West

During the Game Awards 2022 ceremony, Guerrilla Games and Sony Interactive announced the upcoming arrival of DLC for Horizon Forbidden West. Named “Burning Shores”, it is scheduled for April 2023. Unfortunately, this additional content will only arrive on PlayStation’s latest console, the PS5.

Horizon Forbidden West’s ‘Burning Shores’ DLC Won’t Release on PS4

Indeed, as indicated at the end of the trailer, broadcast during the Game Awards 2022, ‘Burning Shores’ DLC will only be available on PS5. On this subject, the developers at Guerrilla Games have provided some explanations, in particular in an article to be found on the official site and on PlayStation Blog:

[…] In this ambitious extension, Aloy will evolve in the ruins of Los Angeles. The city, fragmented and overgrown, can be explored from top to bottom by swimming or riding a Helionwing […] Our vision was particularly ambitious, both technically and creatively. So we had to make the difficult decision to focus our efforts on crafting an unforgettable experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console. […]

So, as you will have understood, the additional content “Burning Shores” will unfortunately not be released on PS4.

As a reminder, “Burning Shores” will allow us to explore a whole new region, located south of the territories of the Tenakth clan, which is actually Los Angeles, alongside Aloy. This will then be an opportunity to meet new NPCs and, most likely, to face the gigantic machine featured in the trailer.

Horizon Forbidden West is available on PS4 and PS5. Our game test is available. Burning Shores DLC arrives April 19, 2023, on PlayStation’s latest console.
