Horror movie quiz: 8 posters to recognize!

These are often images that have become iconic over time. Can you recognize these famous horror movie posters with just a zoomed in detail?

More than any other film genre, the horror film is undoubtedly one of those that must pay the most attention to its posters, in an attempt to appease the viewer. Posters which must sometimes shock or frighten the public giving them a foretaste of what awaits them in the room, or on the contrary, and more often perhaps, remain enigmatic and cultivate mystery, to again capture the curiosity of future viewers.

In this last category, we can undoubtedly place Ridley Scott’s fantastic horror summit Alien released in 1979. A very sober poster produced by designer Philip Gips, which only reveals a giant egg on a black background, from which seems to flow a strange fluorescent green substance. An image that has no doubt also become iconic thanks to the slogan that accompanies it: “In space, no one can hear you scream”.

In a more explicit register, another poster had known how to mark the public when it was released, and remains to this day an image anchored in the imagination, that of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. A painting by Roger Kastel (the original of which still cannot be found to this day), which shows a young swimmer in the upper part of the image, when almost the entire poster is occupied by a huge shark ready to swallow its prey.

And it is precisely with all these images that we invite you to play today, since you will have to find which horror movie posters these details that we have zoomed in come from. It’s your turn !
