Hospital Zams – “Intervention” in the emergency room raises the standard enormously

With the completion of the central emergency room, the last phase of the outpatient renovation in House 3 of the St. Vinzenz Hospital in Zams has now been completed. The commissioning of this important core area, which is the first point of contact for the care of acute cases, took place on December 1st.

“The central emergency room marks a further milestone in the ongoing rebuilding and renovation process in the St. Vinzenz hospital in Zams,” says managing director Bernhard Guggenbichler, commenting on the latest innovation in the Oberland hospital, which has almost had a costly “procedure” lasting several years. When planning the rooms for acute care, special attention was paid to short distances that lead from the rescue entrance or the helicopter landing pad to the ambulance or the emergency rooms. A team of 30 nurses, specialists, assistant doctors and doctors in training are on duty in this diverse and demanding area of responsibility. Situation for acute patients significantly improvedThe conditions guarantee protection through spatial delimitation even in infectious cases. The central emergency room has a total of seven individual treatment berths and a central area with four treatment stations and five monitoring stations. “For patients with acute problems, the new central contact point will make the admission situation much easier,” says Guggenbichler. The repair work on the operating theaters has now also reached its final stage. This means that the renovation and new construction work on House 2 and House 3 is about to be finalized.
