Hospitalized Wednesday, after having tested positive for the coronavirus, the Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot was placed under treatment “of reinforced oxygen therapy”, she indicated on her Twitter account on Thursday. In a tweet this Thursday, she said to be “taken care of by exceptional caregivers and now benefits (r) from enhanced oxygen therapy”.

The 74-year-old Minister of Culture announced on Saturday that she had tested positive for Covid-19, “following respiratory symptoms”. She then declared to be in solitary confinement and to have arranged her program for this week. On Wednesday, his entourage announced his hospitalization. “His doctor recommended increased surveillance in the hospital for the next few days,” the same source announced.

“Yesterday evening, she was not feeling well enough with the dose of oxygen that was delivered to her. Doctors have therefore decided to increase it, ”said a member of the minister’s entourage. This same source explained that she “made a point of making a tweet to reassure people who send her many worried messages”.

Positive despite first dose of vaccine

Roselyne Bachelot is the second member of the government sick with the coronavirus and hospitalized, after the Minister of Labor Elisabeth Borne, 59, admitted Monday in an establishment in the Paris region. Former Minister of Health, Roselyne Bachelot received a first dose of vaccine on March 17, three days before announcing that she was contaminated.

She was appointed in July to head the ministry, succeeding Franck Riester, who himself contracted the virus a year ago. Since arriving at rue de Valois, she has had to deal with the fallout from the health crisis on the cultural world, including museums, cinema and performing arts, which have been closed since October 30.
