Hospitals: The Mayor promises “full compensation” for the increase in the index point of civil servants

The Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire promised the Assembly on Monday evening July 25 a “significant increase” of the means of hospitals in 2023 with a “full compensation» of the rise in the index point of civil servants, when examining measures on purchasing power.

In front of the deputies, Bruno Le Maire assured to take “two commitments“:”yes, there will be a significant increase in the Ondam (National Health Insurance Expenditure Objective) in 2023 and yes, we will fully compensate public hospitals for the point increaseclue from officials.

Reacting to a series of rebellious amendments, the Minister of the Economy considered that the budget debate on hospitals had no place in the evening discussion but in the examination in the fall of the financing bill of Social Security (PLFSS), the Social Security budget. “I’m afraid we’re giving in to total confusion. Why are we doing this purchasing power bill? Only to solve the problems of purchasing power of our compatriots. We are being drawn into debates that have absolutely nothing to do“, he had lamented. The minister referred to the budget discussions in the fall.

The package of measures for purchasing power provides for a 3.5% increase in the value of the index point for civil servants, which serves as the basis for their remuneration. Public hospitals recently stressed that they expect an extension of two billion euros this year to compensate for inflation and the rise in the index point for civil servants, and still hope for four to five billion more in 2023, the Hospital Federation had indicated. of France (FHF).
