Hot Ones: discover the first issue of the French version with Jonathan Cohen

Canal+, Studio Bagel and Mediawan have been offering a French adaptation of Hot Ones since April 11, the American interview format seen billions of times since its creation in 2015.

A demented show to which all of Hollywood lent themselves, from Natalie Portman, to Idris Elba, via Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland or Billie Eilish.

In the French version presented by Kyan Khojandi (Bref), it is Jonathan Cohen, Monsieur Poulpe, Jérôme Commandeur, Izia Higelin or even Orelsan who lent themselves to the game, at their own risk and peril… Because the principle is simple, but to reach the end of the interview is much less so: before each question, the guest must taste a piece of chicken or a vegetable tempura with a spicy sauce. There are ten questions and each time the sauce is spicier.

The mixtures specially prepared for the occasion and with evocative names range from 1700 for the aptly named “Gentle blueberry” (blueberries, lemon, soy sauce, guajilo pepper), to more than 1 million on the Scoville scale (which indicates the intensity of a chilli) for the Apocal X (a blend of tomato, Pepper X chilli, chilli paste, and lemon).

The interest is that the more the intensity of the sauces increases, the more the interview takes an unpredictable turn… Kyan Khodanji also explains in the preamble that “the more spicy you eat, the more endorphins there are, which acts like a serum of truth “… Passing through for the promotion of the sequel to La Flamme, the parody of the adventure show Le Flambeau, Jonathan Cohen, the first to sit down to eat, will remember it for a long time… “We went upmarket very quickly”, reacted the actor and showrunner by tasting (only) the second…

Eight 26-minute episodes have already been recorded. Since April 11, they have been visible on the Studio Bagel Youtube channel and every two weeks on Tuesdays at 11:50 p.m. on Canal+.
