Released in September 2021 on computers and consoles, Hot Wheels Unleashed will have been a pleasant surprise, Milestone having succeeded in combining the world of small cars from Mattel with the mechanics of a real arcade racing game and complete. The title was even entitled to a Game of the Year Edition for his first birthday.
But today the Italian developer is back with two big numbers. Hot Wheels Unleashed has sold two million copies and has eight million players. Rest assured, the studio still knows how to count, remember that Hot Wheels Unleashed was offered to subscribers Playstation Plus in October 2022 then added to the computer/Xbox Game Pass a few months ago, enough to attract a lot of curious people. Milestone incidentally shares a small infographic indicating that players have spent a cumulative 939 years playing Hot Wheels Unleashed and created more than 1.3 million pieces of content (liveries and circuits) with the editor in-game. And the most driven car is the 2021 Hot Wheels Twin Millused in more than 20% of races launched. Mike DeLaet, General Manager of Digital Games at Mattelcomments:
We’re always happy to find great partners who help us bring Mattel brands to fans in new ways. Milestone has done an amazing job with Hot Wheels Unleashed, and we’re glad the entire Hot Wheels community loved the game as much as we loved creating it.
Luisa Bixio, CEO of Milestoneadds:
