Hours of use – roof truss fire in Innsbruck triggered a major alarm

A fire broke out on Museumstrasse in the center of Innsbruck on Tuesday afternoon. The roof structure of a high-rise building is affected. A large contingent of emergency services moved out.

The fire broke out around 4 p.m. in a high-rise building, in which the Volksbank and several offices are located in addition to apartments. The cause was initially unclear, as was the extent of the fire. The Tyrol control center spoke of a “bigger fire”. The residents of the house were taken outside. To date there is no information about injuries. The fire was under control around 7 p.m. The Museumstraße was closed to all traffic, an alternative route leads via Meinhardstraße and Sillstraße. All Innsbruck fire brigades and the professional fire brigade are currently on duty or on standby. By 7:00 p.m., the fire was mostly under control and the emergency services were concentrating on the subsequent extinguishing work.
