“House of Gucci” has already started in the USA. The stripe has a side effect that should especially please the luxury fashion house.

In the USA, the long-awaited film “House of Gucci” by director Ridley Scott (83) opened in cinemas on November 24th. That apparently increased interest in the luxury brand. As reported by “The Guardian”, among others, according to e-commerce data specialist Lovethesales.com, searches for Gucci apparel were up 73 percent on Friday (November 26) compared to the previous week. Bags even increased by 257 percent.

Fashion house seems to benefit from the film

The numbers would therefore suggest that the fashion empire is benefiting from the Hollywood film. The strip illuminates the contract killing of Maurizio Gucci (1948-1995), a legacy of the iconic fashion house. His ex-wife at the time, Patrizia Reggiani (72) hired the murderers. The now 72-year-old was convicted, sentenced and spent 16 years in prison.

In the film, singer Lady Gaga (35) slips into the role of Reggiani. Beginning in 1970, the film follows the dark secrets and deadly intrigues behind the glamorous scenes of the famous fashion dynasty. The focus is on the multi-layered Reggiani, who marries Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver, 38). Time and again, she competes with the key figures in the family business for control and power.

In addition to Gaga and Driver, the film also features Al Pacino (81), Jeremy Irons (73), Jared Leto (49) and Salma Hayek (55). “House of Gucci” appears in German cinemas on December 2nd.
