Aged 2 to 24, the ten children from Noyelles-sous-Lens (Pas-de-Calais) lived in deplorable conditions imposed by their parents. These were arrested.
A discovery that sends shivers down your spine. Tuesday August 30, two parents aged 44 and 40 were arrested after the discovery of their ten abused children in an unsanitary house in Noyelles-sous-Lens (Pas-de-Calais). It all started with a simple report. Kicked out by his father, the eldest of the siblings decided to take revenge by filing a complaint against his parents. The young man, aged 24, explained that he had lived in deplorable conditions for many years.
Dispatched to the scene on the morning of August 30, the police of Noyelles-sous-Lens discovered a real hell. Including the young man of 24, ten children live in seclusion, with a ban on leaving the house. The youngest of them, aged 5 and 2, are tied to their high chairs, asleep in their diapers full of urine and excrement. According to Actu Pas-de-Calais, the baby would never have touched the ground and would suffer from delayed speech and motor skills. The others recount having been spanked, tied up and deprived of liberty. They were only allowed to go to school, to avoid suspicion, no doubt.
Children tied up “to prevent them from committing nonsense”
“It gives goosebumps to hear the fate reserved for children…”, reacted the mayor of Noyelles-sous-Lens, Alain Roger, stressing that he was “fell from the clouds“by discovering the daily life of this seemingly uneventful family. “For us, it’s not a closed family. We see them regularly, the children are in kindergarten and primary school and we see the mother driving them to school. They are not registered with the CCAS of the municipality.”
A placement order was issued for the seven minor siblings. The parents, who admitted the facts, were taken into custody and then presented to court. They explained living on 2,700 monthly allowances and tying up their children “to prevent them from committing nonsense“. Accused of violence against a minor by ascendancy and evasion of legal obligations, they risk two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros.
