“Dance of Dragons” will begin on June 16 in the United States on HBO and its streaming platform Max, and on June 17 in France. Two new trailers for the series House of the Dragon revealed today show the conflict between the Targaryens and the Hightowers, which will set Westeros ablaze.
Two clans, two trailers
As a reminder, House of the Dragon takes place 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, a key character in the series Game Of Thronesand is inspired by the book Fire and Blood by George RR Martin, which tells the story of the Targaryen dynasty.
At the end of the first season of the show created by Ryan Condal (Rampage, Colony) and Martin, the Targaryen family is completely divided, with the tragic death of Prince Lucerys Velaryon (son of Rhaenyra Targaryen) at the hands of Prince Aemond Targaryen (son of Alicent Hightower) sparking a family war dubbed “The Dance of the Dragons”.
On the one hand, Queen Rhaenyra wants to reclaim the Iron Throne. On the other hand, Alicent Hightower wants to maintain the crown on the head of her son Aegon, to whom it was passed after the death of King Viserys. And in the middle of all this? Dragons.
As evidenced in the new images below, everyone will have to choose a side in season 2 of House of the Dragon. And as the eight new episodes of the series highlight two opposing clans, HBO gives a glimpse of these different points of view with a trailer for the Greens and one for the Blacks.

The cast of the series is still made up of Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Ewan Mitchell and Fabien Frankel, but it is also marked by the arrival of new actors including Tom Taylor in the guise of Lord Cregan Stark, Jamie Kenna in the role of Ser Aflred Broome or even Vincent Regan in the role of Rickard Thorne.
After season 1 available in France on Prime Video, via the Warner Pass, this new season of House of the Dragon will be offered on the Max platform, which will be launched in France between May 21 and the start of the Olympic Games on July 26. We do not yet know if this means that the series will no longer be accessible in the Warner Pass.
