“House of the Dragon”, the sequel to “Game of Thrones”, will run parallel to the US start on Sky on the night of August 22, 2022.

“Game of Thrones” fans don’t have to worry about spoilers from the US media for the spin-off series “House of the Dragon”. Because the first season of the spin-off will be shown in Germany at the same time as the US launch, i.e. on the night of August 22 this year, via Sky Ticket and Sky Q. The episode will also be available on Sky Atlantic in the evening of August 22 at 8:15 p.m. The pay TV broadcaster has now announced this.

Accordingly, the respective episode will “probably be shown immediately in German and in the original version”. The first season of “House of the Dragon” will consist of ten episodes. Among others, Matt Smith (39), Emma D’Arcy (29), Steve Toussaint (57), Rhys Ifans (54), Olivia Cooke (28) and Paddy Considine (48) play the leading roles.

Creator George RR Martin is thrilled

The “Game of Thrones” offshoot will play around 200 years before the original series and is based on George RR Martin’s (73) novel “Fire and Blood”, in which he devoted himself to the “rise and fall of the House of Targaryen from Westeros”.

At the end of last year, Martin revealed that he was already allowed to review a rough version of the first episode. On his website In a post at the time, he said: “I love it. It’s dark, it’s powerful, it’s deep… just how I like my epic fantasy.”
