The Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is taking shape. Four other actors, including Rhys Ifans, have now been signed.

The US broadcaster HBO has found four more actors for the series "House of the Dragon". Rhys Ifans (53, "Notting Hill"), Steve Toussaint (55), Sonoya Mizuno (34) and Eve Best (49) will also play in the "Game of Thrones" prequel, which is set to play several hundred years before the hit series be seen, as reported by the industry journal "Variety".

Who else is there

The four actors join their previously announced colleagues Matt Smith (38), Olivia Cooke (27), Paddy Considine (47) and Emma D'Arcy (28). According to the report, the newly confirmed actors will play the roles of Lord Corlys Velaryon (Toussaint), Otto Hightower (Ifans), Princess Rhaenys Velaryon (Best) and Mysariya (Mizuno).

Miguel Sapochnik (46) and Ryan Condal will act as showrunners. The two will also appear as Executive Producers alongside Vince Gerardis and author George R. R. Martin (72), who created the world of "Game of Thrones". Ten episodes are planned for the time being. The series is expected to start in 2022. It was recently announced that filming will start this April.
