In House of the Dragon, Queen Alicent creates a secret alliance with Lord Larys that hatches all sorts of underhanded dirty tricks for her. But these services rendered are not free and remunerated in an original way…
We will not pretend not to have been surprised by discovering this scene from House of the Dragon which brings together Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and Lord Larys (Matthew Needham). Yet Game of Thrones fans are used to seeing explicit sex scenes and House of the Dragon has kept the tradition established by the parent series.
Between nocturnal excursions to the pleasure houses of King’s Landing and the risque murals in Alicent’s bedroom, the series depicts erotic fantasies of all kinds. But one of the weirdest goes to Lord Larys who has become a shadow agent of the Queen.
As we saw throughout the first season, Larys Strong has become a veritable mine of information for the Greens – understand the Hightower – and in a scene from episode 9, he visits Alicent as she prepares his next move. However, he implies that the information is not free and Alicent takes off his shoes. Action against which Larys reveals that Mysaria, nicknamed the White Worm, is at the head of a network of spies, that Viserys is aware of and that he leaves him in place because he deems it useful. Following which, he masturbates while looking at Alice’s feet.
Actress Olivia Cooke, who plays Alicent Hightower, spoke to Variety about this and said: “It’s crazy because there are beheadings, people getting their penises cut, graphic violence and brothel scenes, but getting my feet out and him masturbating is the most shocking thing. It’s funny, isn’t it?And to continue:
I knew that on D-Day… I didn’t want it to be free at all, because I knew my feet were going to end up on different sites. It’s crazy how you can’t predict which scenes get the biggest reactions from people, and sadly, that was the one.
