House of the Dragon on OCS: Season 1 timeline revealed!

The author of the novels “Game of Thrones” George RR Martin has revealed over how many years the series “House of the Dragon” will take place, broadcast on OCS on demand since Monday, August 22.

This Monday, August 22, OCS City and the OCS on demand platform unveiled the first episode of the House of the Dragon series, a prequel to Game of Thrones taking place 172 years before the adventures of Jon Snow and company… At a time when the clan Targaryen dominated the other families of Westeros, the reign of King Viserys I arouses much covetousness among his potential heirs…

Among the main characters of this new series, a princess who reminds us in many ways of her future descendant Daenerys. Named Rhaenyra, the latter is played by two different interpreters, since the plot of the program takes place over several eras: the young actress Milly Alcock portrays her in her young years, while Emma D’Arcy lends her features to the adulthood.

Because it has been confirmed that the story of season 1 will span several years, and even decades. Thus, in the official Game of Thrones podcast, the author of the novels – and co-creator of House of the Dragon – George RR Martin announced that the plot of the first season takes place over twenty-eight years!

A hell of a leap in time, but which does not however bring the series close enough to the Game of Thrones chronology to consider any crossover. Unless, like what The Crown did with the British royal family, House of the Dragon devotes each season to a different era of the Targaryen clan?

Episodes of the House of the Dragon series are offered every Monday exclusively on OCS City and on the OCS on demand platform.
