Episode 3 of House of the Dragon is marked by a spectacular battle, which marked the fans. This fight ended with the death of an enemy but also the intervention of a dragon. What is it? Warning, spoilers.

In the third episode of House of the Dragon, a great battle is being played out in the Stone Steps between the representatives of the Kingdom and the Triarchy, the alliance between the free cities Lys, Myr and Tyrosh. On one side, Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) and Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) and on the other, Craghas Drahar aka the Crab-Giver (Daniel Scott Smith), one of the admirals of the Triarchy.
The fans of Game Of Thrones did not fail to let it be known on social networks that this episode entitled “Second of the name” marked their spirits by being, according to them, up to the best episodes of the original series. In addition to the bloody melee and sword fights, it was also the appearance of a dragon at the end of the episode that thrilled the fans.
Seasmoke in action
When Daemon finds himself hackneyed on the beach with his sword in hand, a dragon appears in the skies to burn anything in his path. The diversion generated by the dragon allows the Velaryon army to gain the advantage and Daemon to kill the Crabguzzler.
But what is this dragon? This is Fume-des-mer (or Seasmoke, in the original version). This gray and white dragon is a young creature when it intervenes during the battle at the Steps of Stone but it is no less formidable and spits sacred flames when its owner throws “Dracarys” (which means “fire- dragon” in Valyrian).

And the rider riding Seasmoke is none other than Prince Laenor Velaryon (played by Theo Nate then by John Macmillan as an adult in House of the Dragon). He is the son of Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) and Lord Corlys Velaryon de Lamarck. He was heir to House Velaryon and was once considered to be heir to King Jaehaerys I Targaryen as a child.
But his destiny will be different and he will be linked in the future to other protagonists and other royal obligations. His dragon will be a valuable ally during the famous “Dance of the Dragons”, the devastating civil war that destroyed the Targaryen dynasty and precipitated their downfall.
