House of the Dragon: the spin-off series will be much shorter than Game of Thrones!

Discussions are currently taking place to guarantee the series “House of the Dragon” four seasons, while the filming of its season 2 has not yet started!

A few days ago, the American media revealed that the second season of House of the Dragon, whose filming will begin in April, will be shortened to eight episodes, two less than the first which totaled ten.

If this announcement has disappointed many fans of the Game of Thrones prequel, here comes good news despite everything since the future of the series seems assured, while discussions are currently being conducted by the two creators of the program – Ryan J. Condal and writer George RR Martin – and HBO for securing an early renewal of the show for not one, but two more seasons, bringing the total to four seasons!

It would indeed seem that the success met by the first season of House of the Dragon (Golden Globe for Best Drama Series last January, an award that Game of Thrones never won) allows its screenwriters to take the lead and extend their ambitions beyond next season.

And if four seasons of House of the Dragon were to see the light of day, it also seems very likely that by then other spin-offs from the Game of Thrones universe will succeed; the current prequel adapting only a tiny part of the work Fire & Blood which traces the history of the Targaryen clan from the conquest of the Seven Kingdoms by King Aegon I Targaryen, known as Aegon the Conqueror.

Remember that the first season of House of the Dragon, and the complete Game of Thrones series (which totals eight seasons), are now available on the Amazon Prime Video platform, via the Warner Pass subscription.
