Only a few more weeks to wait before discovering House of the Dragon, the prequel to the legendary HBO series, Game of Thrones. And the actors have invested a lot in trying to satisfy the fans, even if it means giving a little of themselves on the set. This is for example the case of Matt Smith who received a violent blow during a rehearsal.
It is one of the most anticipated series of the year. On August 22, the American channel HBO will broadcast the first episode of its prequel series of game of thrones, House of the Dragon. 24 hours after its broadcast in the United States, the program will be broadcast on the OCS channel in France. This new series is eagerly awaited by the public, who hopes that this burning spin-off on the origins of the Targaryen family will be up to it.
The story of House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the original series and will be centered on the so-called period of “Dance of the Dragons” which opposes the Targaryen dynasty for the throne of Westeros after the reign of Viserys Targaryen I (Paddy Considine). Viewers will therefore discover the ancestors of the famous Daenerys, including Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) daughter of Viserys declared heiress, Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), last wife of Viserys and mother of his young children also heirs of rights, and Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), brother of Viserys. Matt Smith, revealed in the Doc Who series, therefore takes on one of the main roles in the spin-off, the filming of which was particularly eventful.
Matt Smith injured in the face
Indeed, during a panel at Comic-Con in San Diego organized last July, Fabien Frankelwho will play Ser Criston Cole, a member of the Royal Guard of Viserys I Targaryen, confided in a accident on film sets. The actor has indeed revealed to have injured his playing partner in the face Matt Smith with a sword during their first rehearsal. Fabien Frankle, however, did not give more details about this accident, just like the interpreter of Daemon, who also did not indicate whether his injury had delayed the takes. But everything obviously ended well because all the actors were able to shoot the whole of the first season of House of the Dragon and eagerly await the reaction of the fans.
