HOUSES OF HORROR. This man who dared to buy the home of Michel Fourniret for a good reason

In Sart-Custinne, there is a sadly famous house. It was at 18 rue de Vencimont in this town in Belgium that Michel Fourniret and his wife Monique Olivier were arrested by the police on June 26, 2003, after the failed attempt to kidnap little Marie-Ascension. Nine years after their arrest, and while this building had been abandoned, it was sold at auction “by the same notary who sold it to Fourniret in 1992” according to Le Parisien. This is Jacques de Suray, a “former farmer converted into a wise real estate agent” who bought this horror house for 57,000 euros. At the time, aged 82, this man confided that he had “made this offer without even visiting the house” of the monster of the Ardennes.

If he bought Michel Fourniret’s house, it was for “do a good deed so that the families who are victims of this man have financial compensation”. At the time, Jacques de Suray wanted to raze the house and “give the stones to those who want”, but this request was refused. He finally sold it in 2013 to Didier, a resident of Dinan. “At first, we emptied the house. It was in a pitiful state. Civil protection had turned everything oversaid this buyer. And then there were still plenty of Fourniret’s things, rotten food in the fridge or his clothes.” On the airwaves of Sud Radio, he explained that he had bought this house without thinking of the former owners.

Michel Fourniret’s house transformed into a gîte?

“It doesn’t matter. For me, these are just walls. If we don’t have to go to all the places where there have been bad things, we won’t even visit Bouillon castle anymore. On the other hand, I would not have bought the property if it had harmed children here“, assured Didier. Years after buying this house, he revealed that he wanted to turn it into a guesthouse for tourists. “We fixed what had been broken during the excavations. Then we drained the area around the house, made a connection to the sewers… But we couldn’t continue to move forward because of a huge problem with the ‘electricity”, he regretted with the Ardennes. And to react to the death of the serial killer: “I am thinking of all the families of the victims who will not have their questions answered”.
