CAIRO (Reuters) – Yemen’s Houthi rebels said on Sunday they had fired several missiles at the HMS Diamond, a British navy destroyer, in the Red Sea, a claim the British Defense Ministry quickly denied.

In a statement, the Houthi rebels said their strike was precise without saying whether it caused damage to the building.

They also say they attacked two merchant ships, the Norderney and the Tavvishi.

“These claims are false,” said a spokesperson for the British Ministry of Defense.
