Created by activists more than thirty years ago, the association continues today to work with vulnerable people affected by HIV / AIDS or hepatitis, while doing important prevention work.

Associative work around vulnerable people is, more than ever, necessary for the proper functioning of our society. It is with this spirit of solidarity that AIDES has been helping people living with HIV and HIV for many years. Their actions concern anyone in need, as Nadina Manyonga, president of the Hauts-de-France branch of the association, explained to us.

"We support HIV-positive people for their treatment, but we also have to take care of their overall health, to see if these people have a place to live, to eat, to access the care they need."

This is why the work of AIDES is so important: providing screening and treatment is not enough, we must also ensure the support of the people concerned in their daily lives. The association therefore also works for migrants, sex workers and detainees, so that everyone has access to the necessary care without any form of discrimination.

In addition to their actions with HIV-positive people, AIDES carries out prevention operations everywhere in France. "We are also there to do prevention, to pass messages, so that we are all protected, so that we know our serological situation and that we can take charge of our health."recalls Nadine Manyonga.
On average, there are therefore more than 32,000 HIV screening tests performed per year, and nearly a million condoms distributed. The association also has 76 places of mobilization throughout the territory, where everyone can come to get information, by participating in round tables or conferences on certain subjects little covered by the media or sexual education classes, like chemsex, the fact of having sex under psychotropic drugs, for which the association even has an anonymous offer via a WhatsApp number (07 62 93 22 29).

To help AIDES stay active in the fight against HIV and hepatitis, you can make a free donation via https://www.aides.org/generosite, or become a volunteer at the center closest to your place of residence.
Don't wait to change the world!
